BuoyBro is a surf conditions app that displays real-time wave height, wave period, wind speed, wind direction, and tide data from publicly available sources. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information BuoyBro does and does not collect.
Information We Do Not Collect
BuoyBro does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. We do not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share any identifying information to use the app. We do not track your location, browsing activity, or usage patterns. We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking frameworks.
Data Sources
BuoyBro retrieves ocean and weather data from the National Data Buoy Center (NDBC), operated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and tide data from public tide prediction services. This data is publicly available and is fetched directly by the app on your device. No data passes through our servers.
On-Device Storage
BuoyBro stores your selected buoy station and app preferences locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms (UserDefaults and Keychain). This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.
Subscriptions
BuoyBro offers auto-renewable subscriptions managed entirely through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details. For information about how Apple handles your data, please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Third-Party Services
BuoyBro does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The only external connections the app makes are to NDBC and tide data servers to fetch publicly available ocean conditions data.
Children's Privacy
BuoyBro does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect personal information from any users, no special provisions are necessary.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of BuoyBro after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
