Getting Started
BuoyBro shows you real-time wave height, wave period, wind speed, wind direction, and tide data right on your home screen. To get started, open the app, select your nearest buoy station, then add the BuoyBro widget to your home screen by long-pressing any empty area, tapping the + button, and searching for "BuoyBro."
Widget Not Updating
iOS manages widget refresh schedules automatically, and widgets typically update every 15–60 minutes. If your widget appears stuck, try opening the BuoyBro app briefly — this triggers an immediate refresh. If the widget shows "No Recent Data," the selected buoy may be temporarily offline or undergoing maintenance.
Managing Your Subscription
Your BuoyBro subscription is managed through Apple. To view, change, or cancel your subscription, go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone, or visit Apple's subscription management page.
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. For more details, see Apple's guide to managing subscriptions.
Restoring Purchases
If you've reinstalled BuoyBro or switched to a new device, open the app and tap "Restore Purchases" on the subscription screen. This will recover your active subscription using your Apple ID — no need to subscribe again.
Requesting a Refund
Since all payments are processed by Apple, refund requests are handled through Apple directly. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and select the purchase you'd like to request a refund for.
Buoy Data & Accuracy
BuoyBro sources its data from the National Data Buoy Center (NDBC), operated by NOAA, and public tide prediction services. Data accuracy and availability depend on the buoy's reporting status. If a buoy is offline for maintenance or seasonal reasons, BuoyBro will display a "No Recent Data" message.
Missing a Buoy Station?
We're always looking to expand coverage. If your local buoy isn't listed, send us the station ID and location and we'll look into adding it in a future update.
